About the Founder
Kristi Bradford is a frontier technologist, strategist, and investment professional with extensive experience across the commercial, civil, and national security space communities. She is the founder and managing director of Pragmatic Frontiers, a strategic innovation firm that operates at the interface of technology, business, and policy to bridge across - and translate between - diverse disciplines to provide unique perspectives and strategic insights to businesses, investors, and other organizations in the frontier innovation ecosystem.
She is most known for her time as the Space Technology Lead at In-Q-Tel, the strategic investor of the U.S. and allied national security communities, where she co-led nearly two dozen strategic investment deals in frontier technology startups. She started her career at the interface between science and engineering, developing scientific measurement systems for a federally funded research and development center, a venture-backed startup company, and various academic institutions.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Astrophysics, Earth, and Planetary Science from Harvard University, and two master's degrees in Exploration Systems Design (Systems Engineering) from Arizona State University, and International Science and Technology Policy from George Washington University.
